COSPLAYERS, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE YOU SUBMIT:

Supercon gets hundreds of guest applications from aspiring cosplayers, and we only have a few slots available at the event to feature Cosplay Guests in booths in the exhibition hall, and so we want to explain our guidelines for what it takes to become a Cosplay Guest at Supercon.

First, in an attempt to showcase as much cosplay talent as possible, we’re breaking up our Cosplay Guests into two categories: Cosplay Guest and Cosplay Panelist. We have been doing this with our Entertainment Guests for a few years.

Cosplayers with some experience in the craft who attend all 4 days and run one panel per day at Raleigh Supercon can gain free admission to the convention and get a Cosplay Guest listing on our website. These cosplayers are also welcome to purchase a table in artist alley to showcase their prints or other art if space is available. We expect to sell out of artist spaces in early 2019.

Professional Cosplayers with a significant following and with years of experience as leaders in the cosplay community may apply to be considered to be announced and promoted as a Cosplay Guest. A cosplay booth and exhibitor admission would be provided in this case. The Cosplay Guest is still expected to participate in one panel per day. This could be as a presenter in a workshop or as a judge in a contest.

We consider a significant following to be interpreted via social media metrics. Initially, we’re looking for people who have at least 100,000 likes or follows on a single social media platform to be considered for this category. Because there are so many talented cosplayers who would qualify, it’s important that we clarify that we have to also consider other factors such as social media engagement, website traffic, mentions in cosplay press, and more to make a final determination on our Cosplay Guest lineup.
